Bo Hartley Takes Night Two At New Smyrna Speedway
|
TBARA News Release
(February 11) - Except for a cut-down tire on the Hartley 27 sprinter and a minor 2 car tangle in the feature, the night’s racing was green and fast. Jim Alvis took the early lead in his own 21 from his front row starting spot and was quickly pursued hotly by Wayne Reutimann, Jr in the Case Contracting 00jr.
While Reutimann and Alvis were dicing for the lead, Bo Hartley moved the Stephenson International Shipping 3X sprinter from 5th starting spot into the fray.
On lap ten, Hartley drove past Alvis and Reutimann and was never headed. Speedweeks Challenge points leader Troy DeCaire driving the Rudolph 68 broke out of traffic and whittled Hartley’s lead to two lengths but could get no closer. Hartley went on to record his first feature win in 2008.
In victory lane, Hartley gave credit to his owner Robert Stephenson and the crew for giving him an almost perfect setup for the 30 lap feature. In 3 feature races thus far this season, there has been 3 different winners.
The last race for the Speedweeks Challenge bonus money and championship will be contested at DeSoto Super Speedway in Bradenton Saturday night February 16. Can Steele, DeCaire, or Hartley repeat or will we see yet another winner in the highly competitive TBARA ranks? See you there!
